Converging landscape of API Gateway & Ingress Controller

In k8s context, often hear folks interchanging an api gateway with an ingress controller & in almost all the aspects!

Every time I hear this, reminds me of an conf where an NGINX folk once said -

Both a machete & a butter knife are used for cutting, but you’re probably not going to use the former on your morning toast! 😀

I think the reason why conversations are now such is mostly due to the evolving landscape of API gateways, load balancers, & service meshes which due to business competitiveness are slowly converging on each other in terms of product capabilities! 🤷‍♂️
